CLARKSVILLE, TN – On February 14, 2024, Cade Cocke, Clarksville Christian School senior, signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Tennessee Wesleyan University on an athletics scholarship, becoming the first baseball signing in Clarksville Christian School history.

“My father has been my biggest influence throughout my baseball journey. He has always pushed me to be the best I can be and now all the hard work has finally paid off. I am extremely excited that I have been given the opportunity to play at the next level for such a competitive program,” said Senior, Cade.

Tennessee Wesleyan boasts one of the most impressive national resumés at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level. They have appeared in the NAIA National
Tournament as a program in each of their last 14 seasons (excluding shortened 2020 season). In that time, they have also appeared in the Avista NAIA World Series in six of those 14 appearances, most recently in 2022. They have won a pair of those World Series’, reigning supreme in the nation in 2012 and 2019.

“Cade is the epitome of what we want a baseball player at Clarksville Christian to be: a well-balanced young man with integrity, leadership skills, a vision, and a Godly example for his
teammates,” said Chuck Cooper, CCS Head Baseball Coach. “It is fun to see good things happen to good people. I can’t wait to see how God will continue to use Cade this Spring and in the next chapter of his life at Tennessee Wesleyan University.”

“Cade’s mother and I are extremely proud of him for making this decision through lots of prayer. He trusted God’s plan for his life and was rewarded with a wonderful opportunity to play collegiate baseball for one of the top programs in the nation. We are blessed and overjoyed with his decision to play for Coach Berry at Tennessee Wesleyan, and to further his academic and career goals through TWU’s Goodfriend School Of Business. The Lord has been very good to our family, and we give all glory to God!” said Travis Cocke.
