CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A man and his grandson were charged recently with murder in the death of their disabled relative in February 2023.

James Parham Sr., 74, and Austin Parham, 28, were arrested on Dec. 18, in the death of James “Little Jimmie” Parham II, 40. Little Jimmie was the son of James Parham Sr. and the uncle of Austin Parham. They were indicted by the December term of the Montgomery County Grand Jury.

According to court documents obtained by Clarksville Now, Little Jimmie experienced aggravated neglect resulting in serious physical harm between Oct. 8, 2014, and Feb. 14, 2023.

Little Jimmie died on Feb. 13, 2023, according to the obituary provided by McReynolds Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Despite being told he was only supposed to live for 24 hours after being born, Jimmie lived to be 40 and became a car enthusiast. “He led a full life and never knew he was handicapped,” the obituary stated. “He traveled everywhere with his father. Together, they enjoyed hot rods and car shows.”

James Parham Sr. and Austin Parham are charged with aggravated neglect elderly/vulnerable adult-serious physical harm, and first-degree felony murder.
