CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Middle Tennessee State sophomore guard Ta’Mia Scott has been named Conference USA women’s basketball Player of the Week for her play during the week of Dec. 4.

Scott, who is a Clarksville native and former Northwest High basketball star, helped lead the Lady Raiders to a 1-1 record in the first week of December, which included a 70-45 win against the Houston Cougars.

The 6-foot guard notched her first career double-double in the win after she compiled 18 points, 11 rebounds and a career high in steals with 5, according to Conference USA’s official site.

In addition to her double-double against Houston University, Scott also scored 20 points against Belmont University in a 57-71 loss to the Bruins. Conference USA said that this was Scott’s third 20-point game of the year, and she is one of five Lady Raider’s averaging double figures up to this point in the season.

According to Middle Tennessee State Athletics, Scott is averaging 13.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game in 2023.
