SSG, USA (Retired) Sammy David McAmis, age 80, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Nashville.
He was born in Parrottsville, TN, to the late William A. McAmis and Margaret E. Johnson McAmis.
Mr. McAmis was a retired US Army Veteran.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Shaver officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
A Commital Service will take place at 10 a.m. (Eastern Time) Tuesday, May 27, at Clay Creek Cemetery in Newport, TN.
Sammy is survived by his wife, Yong A. Shim McAmis; son, Steve Williams, of Hopkinsville, KY; three daughters, Kimberly F. McAmis, of Memphis, TN, Ha-Na McAmis, of Clarksville, and Byeol McAmis; grandson, Mike Williams (Megan), of California; great granddaughter, Audrey Williams; nephew, Michael R. McAmis, of Newport, TN; and two nieces, Judy Edmonds and Nancy McCloud, both of Newport, TN.
