Update, 8:55 p.m.: A Tennessee woman was killed in the Guthrie Highway wreck early Sunday morning.
Nicholas Hawkins, 22, was driving north on the highway when his 2021 Nissan Versa crossed into oncoming traffic, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary report.
Tammy Biggins, 53, was driving a 2013 Kia Forte. Her vehicle was hit head-on, and she died from her injuries in the crash.
Hawkins was injured, and charges are pending, the report said. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Update: The roadway is back open. THP has confirmed it was a fatal wreck, and more information is forthcoming.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a wreck on Guthrie Highway on Sunday morning.
At 4:15 a.m., there was a crash near the 4200 block of Guthrie Highway, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Bishop Delaney.
One person died at the scene, and two others were taken by LifeFlight to Nashville with critical injuries, according to Clarksville Now news partner Dash 10 Media.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Traffic was being detoured at the intersections of Jim Johnson Road and Hampton Station Road.
At 6:15 a.m., the road remained closed.
“Please find alternate routes of travel. The duration of this closure is unknown at this time but may last several hours,” Delaney said.
No further information has been released.
