A funeral service for Doris Mildred Blackburn, age 91, of St. Louis, MO will be Friday, November 3rd, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Doris was born on September 21, 1932, to Oscar and Rillie Suiter. She enjoyed playing bridge and working outside in her yard. Doris found great joy listening to music and dancing. She also loved spending time her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Blackburn, siblings: OD Suiter, Garner Suiter, and Jerl Elliott. She is survived by her son Steve (JoAnne) Blackburn, daughter Debbie (George) Suzich, grandchildren: Erin (Steve) Strinni, Ryan (Jessi) Blackburn, Jon (Rosie) Suzich, and Kristen (Brooks) Godwin, and great grandchildren: Riley, Sam, Evan, Mila, Evelyn, Regan, Gavin, Emerson, Samantha, and Benjamin.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which was a charity close to her heart.
