With the help of some Northwest High art students, Clarksville Transit System is ready to show off this year's Spooky Special bus for Halloween.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As it does every year for Halloween, the Clarksville Transit System will release their Spooky Special bus to run the streets of the city and offer free rides to anyone who dares to hop on board.
Just before Halloween, a group of Visual Arts II students from Northwest High School, took some time to share their talents by painting one of the CTS buses, turning it into the Spooky Special bus to celebrate Halloween this year.

Veronica Williams, Operations Supervisor for the transit system, said each year CTS offers the opportunity for local high schools to submit entries for painting the Spooky Special Bus. The public then votes on their favorite design through the transit system’s social media channels.
Northwest High School was this year’s winner and art teacher Ms. Rebecca Smith talked about her class being chosen. “I had all of my students work on their designs for a couple of months and we submitted them and were really happily shocked when we found out we had won,” Smith said.
Smith added that two of her students in the class had the highest votes on their designs, so they are doing one student’s design on one side of the bus and the other student’s design on the opposite side.
The Spooky Special bus will travel CTS bus routes in Clarksville on Monday & Tuesday, October 30 & 31, so don’t be scared to get your free ride.
