CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The new Whataburger restaurant at 599 Fire Station Road opened in Clarksville Monday morning, drawing some who camped out overnight and lines that filled nearby roads for two-hour waits all morning.

Courtney Vick, field marketing coordinator for Whataburger in Tennessee, said that it was the first of four Whataburger locations opening in Clarksville. “This is going to be drive-thru only for the first few weeks to get our team acclimated, and so we can provide the best guest experience for our guests. Everything that Whataburger has is fresh and it’s customizable,” she said.

The line for the drive-thru was long, stretching through the restaurant parking lot around nearby Winn Way and down Fire Station Road. Whataburger team members passed out Whataburger prizes to many of the vehicles in line.

At least two of those customers had been there since Sunday night. Tanya Turner said she arrived at 9:25 p.m., and Adisyn Cappers at 11:07 p.m. Both Turner and Cappers said they were from Texas, the home of Whataburger, and they were looking forward to lunch.

Whataburger is a 24/7 restaurant, and from 11 p.m. until 11 a.m. they also serve breakfast. The other locations coming to Clarksville are at 791 N. Second St., 1800 Fort Campbell Blvd. and 1602 Haynes Road. Those locations are scheduled to be open within the next 18 months.
