CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Flags will be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, May 15, 2014 on all City of Clarksville office buildings in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the Clarksville officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The Clarksville Police Department will hold a special ceremony at 11 a.m. to honor those who have been lost, including Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson. The ceremony is open to the public, and members of local law enforcement will serve as guest speakers.
“It is important that we always remember those officers who have given their lives in the protection of ours,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. “While it is a somber occasion, it is an honor to pay tribute to these heroes in our community and in our nation.”
