CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department held their Art in the Park event earlier this month, the first in the new Summer in the Park series.

The event on June 10 at Heritage Park included food vendors and artists from around the community in attendance, with activities such as face painting, crafts and more.

Theatre in the Park

The second event, Theatre in the Park, will take place on July 22, at Liberty Park from 3-6 p.m. This event will spotlight the world of acting and performance, bringing the magic of theatre to the great outdoors in the amphitheater at Liberty Park.

Attendees will be treated to the Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s abridged edition of A Midsummer Night’s Dream presented by the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council. Attendees will also enjoy performances by local actors from the Southern Black Arts Council.

Dance in the Park

The grand finale of the Summer in the Park Series will be Dance in the Park, held on Aug. 12, at Liberty Park from 3-6 pm. This event will honor the beauty and diversity of dance in all its forms, featuring local dancers and companies.
