CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Over the weekend, three Clarksville-area baseball teams extended their season by advancing in postseason competition.

Clarksville Academy, Clarksville High and Rossview High all survived the weekend to fight another day.

The Clarksville High Wildcats were the lone baseball team in the county to win their district championship this year. CHS went undefeated (3-0) during district play, which included winning the opening round against West Creek High.

Following the first round, the Wildcats went head-to-head against Rossview High in the semifinals and in the district championship game. Both games played between the rivals were decided by a slim margin, but Clarksville High came out on top both times.

CHS clinched the 2022-23 District 13-AAAA Tournament in extra innings, and now they turn their attention to regional play.

After defeating Northeast High to advance to the district championship, the Hawks also clinched a spot in the region tournament where they will look to bounce back.

According to the TSSAA, both the Clarksville High Wildcats and the Rossview High Hawks will be back in action on Friday, May 12. The Wildcats will face the runner-up from the district 14-AAAA championship game between Henry County and Dickson County.

The Hawks, on the other hand, will face the winner of the District 14 championship game.

It’s important to note Clarksville High and Rossview High are undefeated against both Henry County and Dickson County during the 2022-23 regular season.

Clarksville Academy baseball

Clarksville Academy has continued to win games throughout the 2022-23 postseason, and on Monday, they’ll have a chance to move onto the regional championship game.

The Cougars are slated to face the winner between Middle Tennessee Christian School and Grace Christian Academy, which begins at 4 p.m. Whoever goes onto win will face Clarksville Academy at 6:30 p.m.

Clarksville Academy has already defeated both teams during their region tournament run. The Cougars defeated Middle Tennessee Christian School 10-0 last Thursday. Then, they proceeded to defeat Grace Christian Academy 14-4 on Saturday.
