CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who purchased $2,000 worth of gift cards after stealing a 79-year-old man’s debit card.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., the victim was approached by a man who had been standing behind him in line at the Sango Walmart
According to Scott Beaubien, CPD spokesman, the man told the victim he had dropped a $20 bill, and when the victim opened his wallet, the suspect made a gesture and was able to steal the victim’s debit card. The card was used a short time later to purchase gift cards totaling $2,000.
