CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – You and your favorite family pet can show off your stuff at the premier Mutt Strut and Pet Expo, Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park.
The Mutt Strut is a fundraiser to benefit Montgomery County Friends of the Shelter, also known as MCFOTS, and will help raise awareness for homeless animals in Clarksville-Montgomery County.
The event features a one mile walk with your dog and registration includes Mutt Strut t-shirt and wristband. Registration is $40, $15 per person, ages 8-15. There is a $5 donation for admission to the pet expo if you are not registered for the walk. Kids ages 5 and under are free.
MCFOTS is a non-profit organization that helps Montgomery County Animal Control and Adoption find homes for animals in their care to avoid their euthanasia. They assist with outreach programs and post photos of adoptable animals on facebook, petfinder and other media outlets.
The organization also takes animals from Animal Control to their facility or a foster home and provides them with veterinarian help, shelter, and training to make them more adoptable. Spay and neuter surgeries are also subsidized by MCFOTS for low or no income families.
