CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning today because of the risk of fire, effective from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, for Montgomery and surrounding counties. High wind and dry conditions led to the warning.

In response, Clarksville Fire Rescue has banned all commercial and residential burning today.

Winds of 14-18 mph with 25-30 mph gusts are expected today, with relative humidity as low as 21% to 22%.

“Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly,” the NWS said.
