Lionel Antonio Joshua, age 82, of Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Tennova Medical Center.

Lionel was born November 11, 1940, in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands to the late Leonard Joshua and Ilva Williams. He was retired from the US Army where he served 24 years where he was a helicopter maintenance Tech, he received a Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal presented by the President of the United States and a Meritorious Service Medal.  He was a past Commander of American Legion Post 233 and retired from Dyncorp after 20 years.

His passion was baseball; he made it to the Dodgers farm team before joining the US Army and had the elite honor of pitching to Hank Aaron in an exhibition game in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.

Lionel was survived by his wife, Kathryn Joshua; two sons, James (Joan) Joshua and Jon (Heather) Joshua; two daughters, Belinda Osorio and Deborah Bradley; one brother, Isborne Fredricks; four sisters, Nalja Gumbs, Irene Frederick, Joycelyn Fredericks Barzey, Ramona Fredericks Hutton; 13 grandchildren, Brandon Joshua, Anthony James, Jamillah Osorio, Greg Hughes, Antonio Bradley, Reginald Bradley, April Bradley, Tina Bradley, Jaimete Joshua, Kathryn Joshua, Leona Joshua, James Joshua, and Moriah Joshua.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Lionel’s honor on Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. April 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
