CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Rossview High School students in the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) club gathered at Walgreen’s on May 3 to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Students washed cars, trucks, and even a motorcycle. Over $600 was raised to benefit the CFF and our Clarksville CF families.
HOSA is a national service organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and is made up of students who are considering careers in medicine or health care. Each year, the organization works on a national service project as a way to bring awareness to certain issues and to help members of the medical community. For the last two years, HOSA has made the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation its national charity.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, funding more CF research than any other organization, and nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support. The CFF does not receive any government funding but depends on the generosity of individual donors, corporations and foundations.
The fundraiser was the first of many activities planned for May – Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.
