CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We have a few things going on this weekend, including a wedding expo, a fundraiser for hunger relief, and a musical at the Roxy.
Wedding Expo: Clarksville Wedding Company is holding a new event, the Wedding Expo, at a new event venue, The Emerald, located in the former home of Rainbow Skate Center, 2631 US Highway 41A Bypass. The expo, featuring a wedding and event attire fashion show, food and drinks from caterers and cake baking vendors, a vendor scavenger hunt and prizes, will be Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Admission is $10, and children under 10 get in free.
Empty Bowls Clarksville: The 15th annual Empty Bowls Clarksville supports Loaves & Fishes and Clarksville Area Urban Ministries. A ticket gets you a simple meal of soup and bread plus a hand-painted bowl, to represent hunger in our community. Tickets are $15 each and will be sold in person at the churches or online. The event finishes up with lunch this weekend, Saturday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Hilldale United Methodist, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dreamgirls: Inspired by Motown and R&B legends of the 1960s and ’70s, the musical “Dreamgirls” follows the rising stardom of the Dreamettes, an all-girl singing trio from Chicago. The musical closes this weekend at 7 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for 10 and younger at the Roxy Regional Theatre, 100 Franklin St.
