Derek Andre Pearson was born on May 31, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the union of Ursela and Frank Pearson. He departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at AHAVA Health Care. in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Derek accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Concord Missionary Baptist Church. He received his formal education in the Philadelphia Public School Systems, later attending Penn State University.
Derek was enlisted in the United State Marine Corp in 1979, receiving a Rifle marksman Badge and an Honorable Discharge.
Derek was employed for many years with Home Instead Senior Care. He enjoyed watching wrestling, sports, and listening to music.
He leaves to cherish his memories parents, Ursela((Gilbert) Mathis; sisters, Jacquelyn Pearson (Timothy Gary), Tara Better, Krystal (Aussie) Thaxter; nieces, Gabrielle Better, Chambri Pearson, Arystal Thaxter, Kenya James; nephews, Michael Pearson, Kristian (Kiana) Mathis; great nephews, Broderick Mathis, Noble Pearson, Noah Pearson, and a host of cousins, other family, and friends.
