CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – While many venues slow down over the winter, there are still lots of entertainment options during the colder months.

March 9-18

The Violet Hour

Where: Roxy Regional Theatre, 100 Franklin St.
When: March 9-18 at 7 p.m. Fridays, 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays
Cost: $35 adults, $15 for 10 and younger
Details: It’s April 1, 1919, and a young independent publisher in a dilapidated Manhattan office finds himself besieged by two authors while a mysterious machine spews out stacks of pages.

March 10-18

Irish Day Celebration in Erin

Where: Erin, 35 miles southwest of Clarksville on Highway 149.
When: Events all week, March 10-18, with the carnival starting Tuesday and the parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18.
Cost: Parade is free, other event costs vary.
Details: The Irish Day Parade in nearby Erin draws a lot of folks from Clarksville to celebrate all things Irish. There’s a carnival, concerts, auctions and more, all building up to the Grand Parade on March 19. For the full schedule and details, go to the Houston County Chamber of Commerce website.

March 13-15

Guitar Fest

Where: Mabry Concert Hall, Music/Mass Communication Building, APSU
When: 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13-15.
Cost: Free

Home Show

Where: Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 1190 Cumberland Drive
When: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 18
Cost: Free
Details: The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce and Furniture Connection host the 14th annual Home Show. Vendors will be on hand to showcase new kitchen and bath designs, new home décor and show you what is new and fashionable for your home.

Where: Quality Inn at Exit 4
When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 18
Cost: $20 admission, kids under 11 free (1 child per adult)
Details: A pop culture event with comic books, toys, a cosplay contest, panels, a new sports card vendor area and Super Smash Bros Tournament.

Dunbar Cave State Park Spring Hike

Where: Dunbar Cave State Park
When: Saturday, March 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Cost: Free, but donations requested
Details: Join Ranger Adam for a 2.75-mile loop hike to discover how the landscape has been altered by the various cultures that have used the cave it throughout the centuries. Please wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather.

Spring Craftsmen’s Fair

Where: Old Glory Distilling Co.
When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, and Sunday, March 19
Cost: Admission is $1. Kids 12 and under free
Details: See over 50 craftsmen showcase their wares and unique trades from woodworkers to metalworkers to specialty chefs and distillers. They will also have food trucks, craft cocktails, distillery tours and yard games

La Pasión según San Marcos

Where: George & Sharon Mabry Concert Hall, Austin Peay State University
When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18; and 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19

Details: The Gateway Chamber Orchestra presents Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov’s work, La Pasión según San Marcos (St. Mark Passion).
