Janet Katherine Batson, age 74, of Ashland City, TN, ended her earthly journey on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center in Clarksville, TN.
Janet was born November 23, 1947, in Clarksville, to the late Dr. J. E. Batson and Maurine Fly Batson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Batson Head.
Janet is survived by sisters Judy B. Smith (David), Wilmington, NC, Peggy B. Vaden (Pat), Clarksville, TN, and Brenda B. Whitaker (Ken), Ashland City, TN; nieces, Flora Smith, Bernadette Hackler, and Amy Pemberton; nephews, Chris Smith, Nathan Head, Ryan Marshall, Jonathan Vaden and Charlie Vaden.
Janet lived her life based on her Christian foundation that began as a child in the Clarksville First Presbyterian Church.
A Clarksville High School graduate in the class of 1965 and a graduate from Memphis State University in 1969, Janet loved her work in the advertising field where she had many great experiences. Because of her love of books, her true dream was fulfilled in her work as a librarian.
Janet was a unique, fun-loving sister, aunt, friend and member of her community. She loved movies, music, animals and reading. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Janet’s honor on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmie Edwards officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial to follow directly after the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
