(GySgt. Ret.) Roger Edward La Pointe Sr., age 91, of Clarksville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Fieldstone Place.
Roger was born October 9, 1931, in Southbridge, Mass., to the late Lionel Joseph La Pointe and Aurore Elodia Gaumonde La Pointe. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Gervasio and siblings.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Claire; sons, Roger La Pointe, Jr., Robert La Pointe, and Jeffery La Pointe; daughter, Denise La Pointe; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
Upon his retirement from 30 years of honorable service in the USMC as a Gunnery Sgt., Roger continued to serve his community with the Knights of Columbus and as an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception on November 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with Father John Patrick officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville, KY at a later date.
