Mr. Charles Robert Poindexter was born November 28, 1943 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the union of Hugh and Rosie Batson Poindexter. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Charles was educated in the Montgomery County Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was currently united with Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Charles was employed by General Motors for over 36 years in Defiance, Ohio. He later was employed by Tom’s Doughnut Factory in Fort Wayne, Indiana
In his spare time, he enjoyed cars, motorcycles and farming. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Rosie Poindexter, brothers, Cosby Poindexter and Vernon Pondexter, sister, Rosajean Gillespie.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Charles Robert Carswell, daughter, Tangela Srita Poindexter, grandson, Jasir Poindexter-Lewis, special son, Douglas Davis and sister, Georgia (Jay) Howell a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Saturday, September 10, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at Hooker Funeral Home Burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
