CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Thunderstorms moving through the area could being heavy winds, and a Flood Advisory has been issued for Montgomery County.

A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northwestern Montgomery and Stewart Counties through 3:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

At 3:09  p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Big Rock, or 8 miles northeast of Dover, moving east at 20 mph.

Hazards include winds in excess of 30 mph. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include Dover, Clarksville, Big Rock, Cumberland City, Indian Mound and Woodlawn.

Flood Advisory

“Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways,” the NWS said.

Montgomery County is under a Flood Advisory until 5:45 p.m.

Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
