CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Joe and Cathi Maynard of Clarksville announced this week they have expanded their partnership with Don Schumacher Racing, and the new deal makes the Maynards majority owners of the NHRA Top Fuel operation based out of Brownsburg, Indiana.
The operation will be known as the Maynard Family Racing Team, or JCM Racing. JCM Racing will be recognized at the upcoming NHRA Northwest Nationals.

Tony Schumacher will continue to serve as the driver for the Top Fuel Team. In addition, crew chief Todd Okuhara has been retained along with his crew members.
The Maynards are well known for their community involvement in Clarksville. This includes investing in the upcoming three-in-one restaurant Shelby’s Trio, and donating funds across Austin Peay State University’s campus. Most recently, they pledged a $15 million donation to APSU athletics. The couple also committed to give $2 million over the course of 10 years to establish the Joe and Cathi Maynard Family Fund of Excellence at APSU.
“Cathi and I are more than excited to continue in our favorite sport as the majority owners of the JCM Racing Team,” said Joe Maynard. “It is our strong desire to build a new legacy with Tony at the wheel while maintaining the legacy of Don and DSR through our partnership.”
Kimberly and Eric Lehman will join the Maynard family as part of the ownership group. Kimberly is a physician based out of Clarksville and her husband, Eric, is a local attorney.
The deal makes the Maynards the only local residents to own a national professional sports team. The NHRA races in 22 races across 17 states with a national TV presence.
