CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System held its Kindergarten Kick-Off for the Class of 2035 Thursday evening at elementary schools.

Students and families got to meet their kindergarten teachers and tour the school, to help children feel comfortable for the upcoming school year. Informational sessions through Zoom were also provided for families with kindergarten students enrolled in CMCSS K-12 Virtual.

At Moore Magnet Elementary School, Principal Kelsea Cox said they had around 60 children visit the school, where the kids participated in a STEM challenge, discovering how learning can be fun.

“Tonight, we are welcoming our newest Blue Jays for the 2022-23 school year,” Cox said. “We want the students to get excited about kindergarten and learn about the heart of Moore.”

The first half-day will be Aug. 8.
