CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Civitan Club hosted their annual Public Safety Awards Day on Wednesday, recognizng Clarksville-Montgomery County law enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical services at their weekly meeting.

Each of the honorees were individually recognized for their service to the community. Donna Sabash with the Clarksville Civitan Club read information on each of the individuals, submitted by their superiors.

Honored were:

Clarksville Fire Rescue Firefighter Jerome Amos. Amos was the Clarksville Fire Rescue Employee of the Year for 2021 and is a 32 year veteran of CFR. Amos was recognized for his dedication and commitment, as being reliable, dependable, and was described as always positive, has an all-in, all the time attitude.

Clarksville Police Sgt. Lisa Fatula. Fatula was described as a caring professional who puts her expertise and devotion into every task that she tackles. Fatula has volunteered to take on additional collateral duties as a member of both the Clarksville Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team.

Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service Firefighter Coy Johnson. Johnson is the Firefighter of the Year for Montgomery County and has been with the Cunningham Fire District since 2019. Johnson was described as an exceptional firefighter and extremely loyal teammate who is always looking to help other firefighters.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Benjamin Stafford. Stafford was recognized for his duties as a member of the Detention Services Bureau of the sheriff’s office who distinguished himself and his actions in the handling of an incident after being attacked by an irate inmate at the Montgomery County Jail on July 25, 2021.

Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services Paramedic James Woodard. Woodard has been with EMS since 2018. Woodard is described as having consistent professionalism, integrity, and a hard work ethic which reflects greatly upon himself, his patient care, and Montgomery County Emergency Medical Service.
