CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The northbound lanes of Fort Campbell Boulevard were shut down Wednesday afternoon following a four-vehicle crash caused by racing drivers.
At 2:10 p.m., police had the lanes closed following the crash near Ringgold Road. There were no serious injuries, according to emergency responders at the scene.
The crash involved four cars, according to Tiara Cothran, the granddaughter of one of the drivers who was hit.
She said her grandmother told her two cars were racing, and they crashed into two other cars. One of the racing drivers ran from the scene, she said.
Another witness, Shameka Williams, said a silver Elantra came through the traffic light and crashed into a car that was turning off of Ringgold. That car then spun and crashed into a white Mustang.
“I just pulled over,” Williams said.
She said she saw one of the drivers take off running behind Burger King, headed toward the post office.
Police at the scene could not immediately confirm witness accounts.
