Rev. Virginia Ann Bates age 88 of Clarksville gained her wings on December 10, 2021. Visitation Saturday, December 18,2021 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Sulphur Spring African Methodist Episcopal Church, Cunningham, TN, with the Homegoing Celebration to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment Sulpher Spring A.M.E. Church.
Rev. Bates was born January 11, 1933 in Carlisle, PA to Marshall A. Green, Sr and Ruth Moss Green. She retired in 1998 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Treasury. After retirement she relocated to Clarksville where she became a member of Sulphur Spring A.M.E. Church.
She is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Dillard, Jr, parents, siblings, Marshall Greene, Jr, Marsha Anderson and Carol Jones.
Rev. Bates leaves to cherish her memories, children, Sherry Ann (Richard, Sr) Washington, Clarksville, TN and Denise Leedy, Newport, PA, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, a host of other family and her church family.
