CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In the wake of the devastation from tornadoes in Kentucky, many people across Clarksville are looking for ways to help.
The needs in Kentucky will change over time. Currently, Hopkins County, Kentucky, authorities are overwhelmed with material donations, including non-perishable items at all drop-off locations.
Donors are urged to stop dropping off used, secondhand items; sites in the middle of the relief effort do not have the capacity to evaluate used items.
The current primary need is for contributions to the Governor’s Tornado Relief Fund.
You can also purchase gift cards to Walmart, Food Giant or Kroger and drop them off at 5 Star Media Group, 1640 Old Russellville Pike in Clarksville. 5 Star Media Group, which includes Clarksville Now, Beaver 100.3 and several other radio stations, is teaming up with YAIPak Outreach to make sure those cards get in the hands of the people who need them.
Additional relief efforts will be announced soon.
