CLARKSVILLE, TN – On Dec. 11, West Creek High School hosted the 24th annual Red River Brigade JROTC Drill and Rifle Invitationals. This event was attended by all CMCSS high schools to include several schools from outside of the district. The Regulation Drill categories included but were not limited to Color Guard, Unarmed Regulation, and Armed Regulation. The Marksmanship Event categories included both first year Sporter and Advanced Sporter categories.

This event is the single largest event hosted in this region. Cadets were anxious, but ready for the stiff competition set before them. The CMCSS JROTC DAI Office expressed tremendous gratitude to all competing cadets and supporters of this event, and said they can hardly wait until next year to see how the competition continues to expand back to the level prior to the COVID pandemic.

Once the competition’s results were tallied, West Creek High School walked away with Top Honors in both the Drill and Marksmanship Category. The WCHS Drill Team placed first in three of the six events and second in the remaining events. This allowed the Drill Team to take top honors by placing first overall in the Regulation Drill Category.

WCHS Drill Team will continue to work hard as they prepare for National High School Drill Team Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida.
