CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Police Department received a 911 call regarding a “shots fired call” in the area of Oakland Road at approximately 12:36 pm., according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.
Out of an abundance of precaution, Clarksville Police requested the Northeast School complex to go into a lockout status.
According to CMCSS spokesperson Anthony Johnson, a lockout is business as usual inside the building; however, all outdoor activities are moved inside, staff and faculty ensure outside doors are secured and situational awareness is increased.
A message was also sent out to Northeast families via email, informing them of the situation.
The incident did not occur on school property, and the lockout status has since been lifted. One victim was shot at but not injured. Several officers are in the area and an investigation is ongoing.
CPD officers are currently out with a possible suspect in the area of 101st and Trenton Road, Beaubien said.
