Gertrud “Gerty” Johnson, age 90, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Tennova Healthcare.
Ms. Johnson was born on June 24, 1931, in Neuhausen, Germany. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson, Jr., and great-grandson, Justin Todd.
She is survived by daughters, Rennie Todd (Junior), and Regina Tipton (Robert); grandchildren, Tina Brown (Travis), Traci Frost (Steve), Kellie Clouser (Jon), Robert Tipton, Jr. (Kayla), Robbie Todd (Cara), AJ Todd (Lindsay), Jeremy Todd (Drew), Kayla Hanson (Dustin); 16 great-grandchildren, including Bryce Lazenby; two great-great-grandchildren; and many others who called her Granny.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, September 30, at 6 p.m., at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, from 4 p.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Ms. Johnson was an active member of the Foster Grandparent Program for 25 years. She volunteered at Tennova Hospital and the Montgomery County School System, most recently at Woodlawn Elementary School. She attended Immaculate Conception Church and was a devoted and selfless servant to all those around her.
