CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville G1 9U baseball team came from behind in back-to-back games this past weekend to take home a United State Specialty Sports Association Championship.

Led by the pitching of Tavien Smith and Championship MVP Braxton Pewit, G1’s 9U team took home a first place trophy at the USSSA Summer Sizzler in Mayfield, Kentucky.

G1 found itself trailing twice during the weekend, both in the semifinal and championship games. A triple in the semis by Logan Lee and a six-run inning in the finals helped them overcome both, according to head coach Anthony Hilderbrand.

A youth travel sports organization based out of Clarksville, G1 was created to honor the glory of God while competing at an elite level of youth athletics. For more information, visit g1athletics.com.
