Virginia McGregor Sexton Riggins, age 96 passed away on June 12, 2021.
She was born January 29, 1925, in Stewart County, Tenn. to Clayton McGregor Sr. and Ida Smith McGregor. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed watching sports, feeding her birds, reading, gardening and her fur baby, Izzy.
Virginia was a member of the Fort Donelson Memorial United Methodist Church and the Williouse Williams UMW and worked at Dover Peoples Bank for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Allie Jo Sexton and husbands George Weaks Sexton and Van Riggins, Sr. Also by her siblings, Leroy McGregor, Alene Hilmus Crockarell, Louise Hogan, Wilton McGregor, Robert McGregor, Elwin McGregor, Clayton McGregor Jr., Eugene McGregor and Billy McGregor.
Riggins is survived by her son, George Sexton (Karen); stepchildren, Vanessa Ellarson (Johnny) and Van Riggins Jr. (Melinda); grandchildren: Brittain Sexton (Lindsey), Sarah Sexton Walters (Chris), Jonna Yarbrough (Kevin) Vanna Jackson (Benton), Callie Crews (Ryan), Van Riggins III (Naomi) and great-grandchildren: Quentin and Vincent Sexton; Clayton and Grant Walters; Drew, Kate, Sofi and Luke Yarbrough; Caylor and Vayla Jackson; C.J. and Daveion Crews and Bruce Riggins.
A graveside service will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery on Tuesday, June 15 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Willie Lyle officiating. Pallbearers are Mark Smith, Scott Smith, Chuck Ladd, Andy Luton, Allen Ralls and Dwayne Hicks.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fort Donelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, Tenn. and online condolences may be made at anglinfuneralhome.com.
