CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) held its Montgomery County Youth Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, June 12 at the Liberty Park Pond as more than 115 youngsters, ages 16 and under, were part in the fishing competition.

Adults could help their kids get ready, help with baiting their hooks, and get their line in the water, but the youngsters had to be the ones to reel in their catch.

Clarksville Parks & Recreation supported the event with staff and equipment.

Trophies and prizes were awarded to the youngsters who caught the largest fish and the most weight in fish.

Monica Strickland won largest fish for a female with a catfish that weighed 3 pounds, and Jace Roach won for the largest fish for a male, also with a catfish weighing 3 pounds. For most weight of fish caught, Dakota Johnson was the male winner with a total weight of 8 of catfish, and Harmony Horne was the female winner with a total weight of 12 pounds of fish.
