CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A courtroom at the Montgomery County Courts Center and a tree on the lawn will be dedicated this week in honor of Judge Ray Grimes, who died Nov. 26.
At noon on Friday, June 4, the dedication of Courthouse Room 205 will be celebrated. At 12:30 p.m., a tree will be dedicated in his honor on the lawn of the historic County Courthouse.
The events will be open to the public, with music by “As Is” with Cindy McElroy and food trucks.
Grimes, 73, served as a general sessions and juvenile court judge in Montgomery County for 22 years and was also the founder of the Montgomery County Recovery Court. He was a former Montgomery County commissioner and retired as a lieutenant commander from the U.S Coast Guard Reserves.
