Update, 8 a.m. Monday: Fire investigators were able to look at video footage from a building next door, according to Clarksville Fire Rescue.
There was a fire in the mulch outside of Captain D’s. Employees thought they had extinguished the fire and went back to work. Later, smoke filled the building, they evacuated and called 911.

Update, 5:30 p.m.: Firefighters have put out the fire at the Captain D’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, and the street is once again open to through traffic.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Captain D’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard Sunday at approximately 2:20 p.m., halting traffic in the area.
Wilma Rudolph Boulevard is closed while firefighters work to contain the blaze. At least one entrance to Governors Square Mall is also closed. First responders are on scene redirecting traffic.
According to Assistant Chief Michael Rios with Clarksville Fire Rescue, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
Staff and customers were able to exit the building and no injuries have been reported.
