David Carl Baker, age 76, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
David was born December 3, 1944, in Louisville, KY, to the late William Theodore Baker and Evelyn Aline Miller Baker. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah McClure; two brothers, William Baker and Terry Baker; sister, Denise Vincent; niece, Nam Soon Milligan; and one great-nephew, Deontrea Milligan.
David was retired from the US Army, having served for 21 years. He was a member of the New Eden Presbyterian Church. Mr. Baker was a jack of all trades, and he loved gardening.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, March 4, at 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastors Siwan Kim and Jason Ashley officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Thursday, March 4 from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
David is survived by his wife, Pok Ok Baker; two sons, Michael (Chastity) Baker and Victor Rivera; daughter, Marshia Baker; two brothers, Chuck Baker and Robert Baker; six grandchildren, D.J. Meriwether, Stephén Meriwether, Bréanna McClure, Christopher Benton, Carlos Lewis, Jr., and Chantelle Benton; five great-grandchildren, Damani, Samarra, Kazarius, Kinsley, and Karlee; and two great-nephews, Deontreaz Milligan, and Deon Murray.
