CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The season is wrapping up for girl’s high school wrestling and, despite a challenging year, both athletes and coaches have brought home key victories for Montgomery County.

“This has been a unique year for high school wrestling area. With everything that coaches and athletes are having to endure with abrupt schedule changes to Student Athletes being contact traced for precautionary reasons. The one thing that has not changed is the dominance that the Clarksville area continues to have when it comes to Girl’s wrestling,” Brad Warren, Clarksville High School assistant wrestling coach, said.

In final team results, Rossview High School took home their fourth straight regional title with 157 points.

Clarksville High School followed with 143 pts, and Northwest High School rounded out third with 121.

Clarksville’s Lady Cats finished the dual season strong with multiple title wins.

Clarksville High scored an upset win against Rossview High School, who has taken home the past two Team Region Titles.

The Lady Cats secured their first ever Region Title win by beating Northwest 45-18.

At Independence High School, the Lady Cats secured their first TSSAA Girl’s Wrestling Dual Championship title over two time champions, Rossview High with a score of 33-21.

The athletes were not the only ones to bring home accolades this season. Rossview High’s Jeff Price was named Head Coach of the Year.

Northwest High School were awarded Assistant Coaching Staff of the year.
