CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has been closed since Monday, and lingering ice and snow in some areas have caused officials to cancel school for Friday, March 7 as well.
Elise Shelton, spokeswoman for CMCSS, said the ACT for juniors has been rescheduled to March 18.
The School Board has decided to make up one of the five days missed by adding an extra 30 minutes to each school day April 7 through 24, according to a CMCSS statement. “This would give students’ families time to prepare for schedule changes,” the statement said.
It requires 13 days of an added 30 minutes to make up one school day.
Spring Break (March 24-28) and April 18 will not be used as makeup days.
“While we regret students have had to miss so many days, this has been an unusual and extreme winter as evidenced across the country,” the statement said. “As part of its inclement weather makeup plan, the Board already forgave the three days missed earlier this school year and students made up the fourth day missed on Presidents Day.”
A plan will be developed for the other four missed days.
