CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Salvation Army has announced that the 2013 Red Kettle-Bell Ringing holiday fundraising campaign for the organization raised more than $130,000 which is above last year’s total which was just over $115,000. Lieutenant Christopher Coulson with the Salvation Army talked about the campaign.
“It was very successful, which means those funds will be available to keep our shelter doors open 24 hours a day seven days a week this year. We just want to thank the volunteers and supporters who came out in the cold, frigid weather and gave their time or their money to support the Salvation Army,” Coulson said.
Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Jon Clark, added his praise for the work of the Salvation Army saying he thought it was wonderful what Lieutenant Coulson and his wife Lieutenant Christina Coulson were doing at the shelter and the organization was looking forward to a great 2014.
The Red Kettle campaign which is the largest fundraising effort for the Salvation Army was 35 days long running from November 15 through Christmas Eve. The Red Kettle campaign helps support the Salvation Army homeless shelter and their many programs and services throughout the year.
