CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation, (TDOT), says as work continues on the old McClure bridge project on Highway 48/13, another blast is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18. TDOT says the blast will not impact morning traffic as it did last week because the blasting will not take place over the river.

“They are going to temporarily close traffic for the blast and the clean-up immediately afterwards, and this is going to be the last big blast of the year, but there will be more blasting in 2021,” said Kathryn Shulte, Community Relations Officer for TDOT.

Shulte added that there will be ongoing blasting operations in the new year, but those blasts will take place between 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the regular allotted time frame for lane closures for the project which will not affect rush hour traffic.
