CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As we all hope and plan for the holiday season, Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries is returning this year with their 13th Annual Warm Souls Christmas Celebration and are looking for volunteers.

Warm Souls is a free event for everyone in the community and is set for Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Austin Peay State University in the parking lot between the Dunn Center and Fortera Stadium

Individuals or businesses interested in volunteering will be working at the outdoor, curbside, event and are asked to visit radicalmission.org/warm-souls/. Jon Vaughn with Radical Mission said that even though this year’s event may look a little different, the goal is the same, to share the love of Christ with the community.

Of course, social distancing guidelines, including the wearing of masks will be encouraged, and as in years past, the Clarksville Transit System will provide free transportation on December 24 and will run round trip routes.

Monetary donations or donated items are being accepted at this time. Winter coats, new toys, men’s and women’s gloves, hats, and scarves, along with donations of food are welcome.  A specific donation list can be found online at radicalmission.org/warm-souls or facebook.com/Radical Mission.

Everything at Warm Souls is free and will be open for driving through, walking up, or using Clarksville Transit System.  Guests attending by vehicle will travel one route, while those walking up or using public transportation will be served by volunteers on foot.

In 2019, close to 900 people benefitted from Warm Souls Christmas. There were 750 meals served, 150 haircuts, 150 pairs of shoes given away, 250 family portraits taken, and more than 1,000 new gifts were handed out to children and adults.
