CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The banks of the Cumberland River will once again be lit with over a million dazzling lights as Christmas on the Cumberland returns to McGregor Park Riverwalk this holiday season.
The grand opening will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 24 at McGregor Park Riverwalk and Museum. The family-friendly event will include a visit with Santa Claus and free hot chocolate provided by Pleasant View Baptist Church. The official lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. with the lights being turned on shortly after.
New to this year’s Christmas light display are three displays purchased with funds raised from the 2019 Christmas Light Run. In addition, Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the City of Paducah (Kentucky) and Paducah Power System worked together by swapping out three light displays to provide something new and different for each city’s Christmas displays.
Following the grand opening, the display will be open nightly through Jan. 1, 2021.
- 5-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday
- 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday
