CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A motorcycle rider was killed Saturday afternoon when his bike was hit by a loose tire.
At about 3 p.m., a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling on Warfield Boulevard towards Dunbar Cave Road near Salisbury Way when one of its four tires came off and rolled into the oncoming lanes of traffic, according to Clarksville Police Detective Michael Patterson.
The tire hit a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling on Warfield toward Rossview Road.
The 32-year-old male driver of the motorcycle died as a result of his injuries.
His female passenger was transported to the hospital, and her condition was unknown Saturday evening.
