The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is requesting assistance from the public to identity two scammers in the area.

According to Officer Natalie Hall, the two suspects have been targeting retailers in the Clarksville and Nashville areas for the last few years.

The suspects bring items to the register while engaging the cashier in conversation as a distraction while they hand over a $100 bill. While the cashier is counting out change, they either take the one hundred-dollar bill back, or ask for it back and convince the cashier that they did not get the money back.

Police say this has occurred at least three times within the past 30 days in the Wilma Rudolph Blvd. area.

Anyone who has information or can identify the suspects can contact Detective Lifsey at 931-648-0656 ext. 5298 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS (8477).
