Contributed commentary from Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts:
I am honored, again this election season, to offer my full endorsement of Rep. Jason Hodges for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 67. Rep. Hodges has demonstrated over the past two years he is committed to the people and the issues we face in these uncertain times.
I offer the latest and best example of his outstanding work on our behalf. While hundreds of folks were temporarily furloughed due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jason held conference calls with state officials and those facing the impossible challenge of filing for unemployment benefits. He made his office the central point of contact for hundreds of people facing financial hardships due to the painfully slow response of the state unemployment system. Each person received a return call or email at a critical time in their families’ lives.
During the past two years, Rep. Hodges worked tirelessly with his colleagues on both sides to support public education, health care accessibility, veterans issues, and the very timely issue of free speech and the right to peaceably assemble. He balanced his time by also focusing on hundreds of issues faced by his constituents.
Jason Hodges has proven he is ready to do the hard work, make the difficult decisions, and represent us with great integrity and character. He and Diana, his wife, remain visible and accessible to us year round.
I ask the residents of House District 67 to join Cynthia and me and cast their vote to keep Jason Hodges in the Tennessee General Assembly. Jason serves us well.
