Update, 5:45 p.m.: The barricaded subject has come out of the house and is in police custody, according to Detective Michael Patterson.
No further information was immediately available.
The area is being opened up to normal traffic.
Update, 5:15 p.m.: Neighborhood residents returning home for the day are being escorted to their homes on a case-by-case basis, depending on how close they are to the home where the subject is barricaded.
Update, 4 p.m.: The CPD Tactical Unit and Crisis Negotiations Team remain on the scene.
Elkmont Drive is closed between Persimmon Court and Sugarcane Way.

Update, 3:30 p.m.: The standoff is still ongoing.
Drivers entering the neighborhood on Elkmont Drive can get as far as Sugar Cane Way, where they are being stopped by police.
The command center is set up at Sugar Cane Way and Holly Rock Drive.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A domestic situation has developed into a standoff with police in the Sugartree subdivision.
As of about about 2:20 p.m., a subject was barricaded on Elkmont Drive, according to police spokesman Detective Michael Patterson.
“It started off as a domestic situation,” Patterson said at the scene. “The female left and the male stayed, then it turned into a barricaded subject still in the house.”
No one else is in the home, he said. No weapon has been displayed, and there have been no reports of injuries.
Starting at about 1:20 p.m., witnesses reported seeing a heavy police response, including a Tactical Team vehicle, and ambulances on standby.
Elkmont is off Needmore Road.
