CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Housing Authority and its community partners hosted their annual Back to School Bash on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Lincoln Homes.

More than 250 kids and adults turned out for the event, where free school supplies were handed out as everyone enjoyed food and music.

As a concern for safety, everyone’s temperature was checked as they arrived, wearing masks and social distancing were encouraged, and there was a hand sanitizing station.

“This is an event we put on every year and it’s done in partnership with a lot of our vendors we work with at the Housing Authority. They make this happen for us as we get ready for the kids to get back to school,” said Shanale Allen, Resident Services coordinator.

Another Back to School Bash is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, at Summit Heights on Richardson Street, but Allen said the event may not take place because of inclement weather in the forecast. “If it’s raining at 3:00 we will be canceling because of the weather,” Allen said.
