MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Central Civitan Club recently announced that it will not hold the annual Lone Oak Picnic this year due to concerns surrounding the covid-19 pandemic.
2020 would have marked the 112th year for the event.
“We feel it is in the best interest of the community and those traveling to attend. It is with deep appreciation of the supporters that we have conducted the picnic for the past 111 years,” said Club President Margaret Adames.
The annual Lone Oak Picnic, held at 275 Highway 13 in Cunningham, Tenn, is the organizations largest fundraiser, and a chance to give back to the community with donations to MCHS Girls/Boys State, Cunningham Boy Scout troops, Montgomery Central and Cumberland Heights special needs students as well as the Cunningham and Palmyra Volunteer Fire Departments.
“Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you at the Lone Oak Picnic next year, 2021,” said Adames.
